Joe Buck’s Viral Freddie Freeman Home Run Call Will Sting Braves Fans for Months Despite World Series Celebration

The MLB season is officially over after the Atlanta Braves defeated the Houston Astros on Tuesday night to become the champions of the 2021 season. Like everybody envisioned, the Braves take home the hardware and trade deadline acquisition Jorge Soler earned World Series MVP honors.

The entire state of Georgia and Braves fans everywhere went into pandemonium after the 7-0 victory sealed the deal for Atlanta. Freddie Freeman continued to do his part to bring a title to the fans.

The Braves All-Star first baseman smashed a home run in the 7th inning as fans everywhere could taste victory on their lips. But, the one and only Joe Buck dropped a line that Braves fans will remember for quite some time despite the celebrations.

Joe Buck drops the brutal truth that Braves fans aren’t ready to face just yet

Sure, celebration and the conclusion of the season is what it is all about in Atlanta. Freeman had a monster night, finishing the game with a 2-4 clip with a double and a home run.

The round-tripped off Freeman’s bat will wind up being the final run scored in the Braves championship season, and Joe Buck dropped a line that will ring in the ears of Braves fans for quite some time.

In all honesty, Buck is just speaking the truth. This very well could be the final time Freeman rocks the Braves uniform. After all, nobody knows what the future holds. Moreover, time and time again, players win a World Series and dash for other teams throwing out huge chunks of change at them.

Buck has been doing this during the entire series as well.

Still, what Buck said isn’t too far off. Nobody knows what the future holds, not even Freeman. Time after time, players win a World Series (or any major sports championship) and have money thrown at them like no other.

Let’s also not forget that Freeman is an All-Star and one of the best first basemen in the entire MLB, and plenty of teams should be pioneering for his services in the upcoming winter.

Freddie Freeman’s status is up in the air after a tremendous campaign

Yeah, nobody knows what Freeman will do. One thing is sure: he is going to get paid a ton of money.

Baseball contracts are being thrown around like nothing as of late. Fernando Tatis Jr. cashed in on over $300 million, Gerrit Cole earned north of $200 million, and the list keeps going. Who is to say that Freeman won’t earn himself a contract in the $100 million range?

The lefty finished the year with an even .300 batting average and smashed 31 home runs and 83 RBIs. Freeman has been consistent throughout his 11+ years with the Braves and can still perform at a high level.

A flurry of teams should come calling during free agency, and — especially with no salary cap — some teams are most likely already preparing monstrous offers for Freeman. Where he goes remains to be seen, and a return to the Braves could happen, but at this point, nobody has the slightest idea.

After the World Series ended, David Ortiz jumped in on the fun and shot some money toward Freeman in a hilarious clip.

Wherever Freeman ends up, he will get a ton of cash thrown his way — and rightfully so.

The Braves can party like it’s 1995

For the first time since 1995, the Braves are World Series champions. The way they did, it was marvelous. At the MLB trade deadline, they got aggressive and made a flurry of under-the-radar moves.

While teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees put all their chips in on the more prominent names, the Braves quietly struck some bargain deals for players like Joc Pederson, Eddie Rosario, Adam Duvall, and the World Series MVP in Soler.

It is safe to say that those four played a significant role in the Braves taking home the hardware, and Freeman did his part — obviously. Manager Brian Snitker was elated, and the entire city of Atlanta shot into celebration after finally capturing a major sports championship for a city longing for a title.

The Braves can celebrate this one for quite some time, and the parade and ensuing partying will be endless. However, at some point, the realization of Freeman’s possible departure from the Braves has to come to fruition.

The conversation has to start somewhere down the road, and whether Braves fans want to hear it or not, Buck was right on the money — this very well could be the last time Freeman wears a Braves uniform.
