The 2025 Emmy nominations were full of the usual suspects (The Bear), surprises (The Studio) and snubs (no love for Yellowjackets?) Probably one of the standouts was Andor, thanks to its phenomenal 14 nominations, including one for Outstanding Drama Series. What's even more striking is that this is the first time a Disney+ original has been nominated for Best Drama, but looking at the stellar performances or the way it feels like a truly unique story within the Star Wars universe, it's no surprise why Andor is turning out to be a critical darling. It also might be the only time that Disney+ snags a nom for a drama series, unless it takes the right lessons from Andor's success.
