The Spice Girls are one of the biggest and most iconic girl groups on the planet, known for their 'girl power' mantra.
Consisting of Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Mel C and Emma Bunton, the group went on to release a number of hit songs including Wannabe, Spice Up Your Life, Stop and Viva Forever.
But the group broke fans' hearts back in 2000 when they announced an indefinite hiatus, two years after Halliwell confirmed she was leaving the group – a move that 'blindsided' her bandmates.

The women have reunited a few times over the years, but nothing could ever recreate the magic of the original Spice Girls era.
Today, each of the women have left the Spice moniker in their past and are focusing on their solo careers.
Some remain heavily in the spotlight – including Mel B, whose wedding is making headlines – while others have chosen to take more of a back seat.
Keep reading to find out more about each of the Spice Girls and where they are today.

Mel B: Scary Spice
In 2000, Mel B released her first solo single I Want You Back, skyrocketing to number one on the British charts.
She released two solo albums, the first titled Hot in 2000 and the second titled L.A. State of Mind in 2005, with her final solo single For One in My Life released in September 2013.
Over the years, her romantic relationships have made headlines.
In 2017, she filed for divorce from husband Stephen Belafonte, claiming the film producer had been physically and emotionally abusive during their 10-year marriage. She also took out a temporary restraining order against him at the time.

Belafonte denied the allegations, with his lawyers calling it a "smear campaign".
She also dated actor Eddie Murphy for nine months in 2009.
In terms of work, she's scored herself small roles in TV, as well as appearing in the 2013 Lifetime movie, Twelve Trees of Christmas, but she seems to of found her place as a judge on reality TV.
She's appeared as a judge on shows such as America's Got Talent, The X Factor and even The Voice Kids Australia.

Most recently, though, the star has made headlines for her wedding to Rory McPhee after six years of dating.
The 50-year-old marked the occasion on Instagram with a loving snap of the newlyweds looking at each other outside The Crypt of historic St. Paul's Cathedral in London, simply captioned with the date.
Victoria Beckham: Posh Spice
While still a member of the Spice Girls, Victoria Beckham – then Victoria Adams – became known for another reason.
In 1997, she met football star David Beckham and the pair tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in 1999. They went on to welcome four children.
They are still together, recently celebrating their 26th anniversary.

"Another year, another chapter in our love story," she wrote on Instagram.
"I'm so proud of the beautiful family and life we've built together. You and our four incredible children complete me. I love you so much @davidbeckham xx Here's to 26 years!! xx".
In 2023, the family was the focus of a four-part docuseries, titled Beckham, which followed David's rise to fame and Victoria's role in his life, reigniting the public's interest in the couple.
However, the family has more recently returned to the headlines thanks to a rumoured 'rift' between eldest son Brooklyn and his parents and siblings.

In 2008, Victoria launched her self-titled fashion brand, which has since gone on to be a part of the world's biggest fashion weeks, with the likes of Anna Wintour and Kim Kardashian sat in the front row.
In 2019, she also launched her own beauty line, which includes makeup and perfume.
And while she no longer performs on stage, she is known to bust out a Spice Girls song at karaoke here and there.
Geri Halliwell: Ginger Spice
Geri Halliwell was the first to leave the group, announcing her decision – which is said to have blindsided the rest of the group – on May 31, 1998.
By May 1999 she had released her debut solo single Look at Me, which was followed by the album Schizophonic in June that same year.
When the band reunited in 2007 and 2019, Halliwell decided to join them, with the group seemingly putting aside their differences.

On May 15, 2015, she tied the knot with Christian Horner, the team principal of the Red Bull Racing Formula One team, and the couple have since welcomed two children.
Halliwell has authored several children's books, with rumours she is in talks about potential movie adaptations.
Outside of her career as an author, she is often seen trackside at Formula 1 races supporting her husband.
Melanie C: Sporty Spice
Melanie C released her first solo album Northern Star in 1999, reaching number four on the UK charts and selling a whopping 2.5 million copies worldwide.
She continued to make music, having a reasonably successful solo career, even establishing her own record label called Red Girl Records in 2004.

By 2009, she had dipped her toes in acting, making her stage debut in the musical Blood Brothers, and in 2021 she appeared on Dancing With The Stars.
Now, she works as a DJ travelling the world, and is reportedly working on a new studio album.
Emma Bunton: Baby Spice
After the Spice Girls split, Emma Bunton released her solo album A Girl Like Me in 2001, which had poor record sales, and a follow up solo album in 2004.
Over the years she's moved from gig to gig, judging Dancing on Ice and Boy Band, mentoring on The X Factor, co-hosting The Great Holiday Baking Show, and appearing on shows such as The Circle and RuPaul's Drag Race.
