Tributes are flowing for Kelly Clarkson's ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, as his official cause of death has been confirmed.
Blackstock died on August 7 after privately battling cancer for three years. He was 48.
"Brandon Blackstock passed away peacefully at his home in Butte, Montana on August 7th under hospice care surrounded by his family," Silver Bow County Coroner Dan Hollis tells People.
It has been confirmed his cause of death was melanoma, a form of skin cancer, and the manner of his death was natural causes.

The talent manager died surrounded by family.
"It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away," a statement released to People read.
"Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time."

Blackstock had four kids, River, 11, and son Remington, nine, who he shared with Clarkson, and Savannah, 23, and son Seth, 18, from his previous marriage with Melissa Ashworth.
Seth shared an emotional tribute to his dad on Instagram alongside a collection of family photos.
"I lost my hero yesterday, words can't describe how proud of you I am on raising me and your 3 other kids," he wrote.

Seth joked the deer and elk took a breath when he put down his rifle for the last time, due to his hunting skills.
"I love you so much and can't wait to throw a line in the water with you again. Love you dad. Be good or good at it - love your son Seth," the post finished.
Ashworth has also broken her silence on social media, sharing a touching tribute to her ex-husband.

"Brandon was full of charm, witt, and just an absolute gentleman who happened to wear cowboy boots, wrangler jeans, and a cowboy hat.
"He was by far, hands down, the best Daddy and Pa. He loved hard and he fought hard. The best thing Brandon has left for his children is they know where he is. I've heard it said, 'Nothing is lost when you know where it is' and Brandon is with Jesus his Savior.
"Savannah, Seth, and our grandchildren are the best parts of who Brandon and I are. Thank you all for your prayers and condolences."
Clarkson was the one to file for divorce from Blackstock in June, 2020, citing irreconcilable differences.
And although they had split, it was clear that she still had feelings for him, almost breaking down in tears during her final performance before cancelling her upcoming shows to be there for his final days.
In 2015 she released the emotional song Piece by Piece – inspired by both her father, who walked out on her family when she was a child, and by Blackstock.
"He never walks away / He never asks for money / He takes care of me / He loves me / Piece by piece, he restored my faith / That a man can be kind and a father could stay," she sang of her then-husband.
A fan who was in the audience for her Las Vegas performance commented on her Instagram post, "She had to muster the courage to sing Piece by Piece without crying.
"I think I understand why now. Unlike her father, though, her children's father was leaving them in his death. She knew it was inevitable, which might explain the tears."
The news of Blackstock's passing came less than 24 hours after Clarkson announced she was abruptly canceling her Las Vegas residency due to her ex being "ill."
