The 70th National Film Awards are underway and several stars from the Indian film industry have graced the event with their presence. The awards were handed out by President Draupadi Murmu to deserving people. Ayan Mukerji and Karan Johar's Brahmastra won big at the award ceremony, following which, Karan credited Mukerji for the success of the film.
Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty received the Dada Saheb Phalke Award for his contribution to the Indian film industry. He attended wearing a traditional dhoti, and kurta. Music maestro AR Rahman bagged the award for Best Music Direction for Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1, making this his 7th National Film Award.
Kantara actor Rishab Shetty was spotted arriving with his wife Pragathi Shetty to receive the prestigious honour for his film.

Manoj Bajpayee, who attended the ceremony with his wife Shabana Raza, received a special mention for his performance in the film Gulmohar.
Moreover, Nithya Menen and Manasi Parekh won the Best Actress award for Thiruchitrambalam and Kutch Express respectively.
