While all eyes were on Vijay Deverakonda and his upcoming film Kingdom (to release on July 31), his fans are feeling disappointed. The pooja ceremony of the actor’s new film (VD14) under director Rahul Sankrityan which was supposed to be held on Thursday (July 10) has been cancelled.

Vijay Deverakonda and director Rahul Sankrityan earlier worked for the super hit comic thriller Taxiwala (2018). Naturally, the actor-director joining hands together for the second time excited fans and the industry insiders. The filmmakers announced that a pooja ceremony would be held at 11:09 AM on Thursday, and that they would continue to share the updates about the film periodically. But the official handle of the production soon announced that the pooja ceremony is not happening due to unavoidable circumstances. They added that a new date will be announced soon. Film set in Colonial India?
According to industry reports, VD14 is set in British colonial India and explores the theme, The Legend of the cursed land. The action-packed film is loaded with intense sequences and emotional conversations. There were also reports that Vijay Deverakonda would appear in a dual role (father and son) for the first time in the film. Recently, the actor wished with the director on his birthday (June 29) and expressed his excitement to reunite with him. The production house also released a video that shows the director working on the pre-production and scouting for breathtaking locations with his team. According to the makers, the film will unearth and explore the history of our motherland, and the director’s vision will show a world like never before.
