World Cup betting odds – Brazil early betting favourites to win the 2022 tournament in Qatar - originally posted on Sportslens.com
With just eight months to go until World Cup 2022 gets underway in Qatar, our betting experts take a look at the latest World Cup betting odds available on the top 20 teams, the implied probability of said odds, and present a free bet currently doing the rounds over at bet365.
With this year’s tournament not set to commence until mid-November, many of the international sides still hoping to progress via the playoffs won’t find out if they’ve made it to the World Cup proper until March/April, which is why you’ll still be able to pick up the likes of European champions Italy at excellent odds.
But, with the likes of hosts Qatar, England, Germany, Brazil, Argentina, and 10 other teams already guaranteed a place in the group stages in Qatar, we decided to present the current World Cup betting odds as seen at bet365 and will update accordingly as teams progress en route to the opening ceremony on November 21st.
Take a look below:

As you can see from the latest odds, Brazil have been inserted as the favorites to win this year’s World Cup tournament in Qatar and rightly so:
The Samba Boys were undefeated in qualifying, winning 12 of 15 games played and drawing three times.
Brazil also qualified for Qatar having scored close to two goals per game and conceded less than 0.33 goals per game on average.
The rest of the top 10 has a very Eurocentric feel. But keep an eye on Italy at 12/1. Despite not losing a single game, the reigning European champions finished second in their qualifying group to Switzerland and will now have to best North Macedonia and either Turkey or Portugal to make it to Qatar proper.
Assuming Gli Azzurri do indeed rock up in the middle east come November, however, it’s certainly worth noting that Roberto Mancini’s team has only lost one game since late in 2018, a 1-2 defeat to Spain in the Nation’s League semi-finals back in October of 2021, making the 12/1 odds on Federico Chiesa and co. very appealing!
Though something like revenge for Roberto Baggio’s missed penalty at USA 94 does sound epic, it’s the World Cup and not everything is about Brazil and Italy.

Interesting to note that Gareth Southgate’s beaten EURO 2021 finalists, England, have been given a 12.5% chance of rebounding from that heart-crushing penalty shootout defeat to Italy to claim the nation’s first World Cup since 1966.
Keep an eye out too for Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah whose respective nations of Senegal and Egypt just played out a tense AFCON final.
Senegal emerged victorious on penalties on that occasion. But, the two sides are paired together again in the final knockout round of the AFCON WCQs on March 25th. And the winner of that game is likely to head into Qatar with plenty of confidence, not to mention at lengthy odds – probably around the 66/1 mark, which is well worth a punt!
