Derrick Henry Is Running Over Defenses and Sprinting to the Top of the NFL MVP Conversation With Video Game Numbers

The Tennessee Titans upset the Buffalo Bills in a Monday Night Football thriller, thanks in part to another outrageous performance from superstar running back Derrick Henry. The King among men ran wild once again for the Titans, and Mike Vrabel’s team improved to 4-2 on the season.

Now, Josh Allen got stuffed short on a crucial 4th-and-1 call in the closing seconds, but the Titans walked away with the three-point victory in one of the best games of the season.

Henry made a case for his inclusion in the NFL MVP conversation with some Madden-like numbers.

Derrick Henry is unreal and belongs in a video game

The Titans running back continues to amaze people every week. After a terrific 2020 season, one in which he rushed for over 2000 yards, some hinted at regression. Offensive coordinator Arthur Smith got the head coaching job for the Atlanta Falcons, and the team traded for wide receiver Julio Jones.

To this point, Henry is still dominating every week. It almost doesn’t make sense how good he is. Against the Bills, he torched the defense for 143 yards and three scores on just 20 carries, an absurd average of 7.2 yards per tote.

For some comparison, Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw for 216 yards all night, and Henry almost outproduced the entire Tennessee offense in the victory.

Despite a poor Week 1 showing against the Arizona Cardinals, Henry’s rushed for over 100 yards in every game and now has three rushing scores in three of the six games this year.

Really. It makes no sense how good this guy is.

Toss the former Alabama star into the NFL MVP conversation right now

At the end of last season, Henry was somewhat overlooked in the NFL MVP conversation. Through six weeks of the 2021 campaign, his name has to be there.

Those numbers above are unbelievable. Henry is over 200 yards above Nick Chubb for the rushing crown and is set to shatter his stats from a year ago.

If Henry achieves anywhere close to those numbers, hand him the MVP trophy, and don’t think twice about it. Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Tom Brady, and Kyler Murray are a few names mentioned most among the NFL MVP candidates.

But make no mistake: Henry is making history and could walk away with the award if he continues at this unfathomable rate.

Titans are a one trick pony with King Henry on the saddle

The Titans are 4-2, and it is all because of Henry. The running back has more touchdowns on the year than Tannehill and the entire offense combined.

It makes no sense, and his hat trick on Monday night came against one of the NFL’s best defenses. When in doubt, hand the ball off to Henry and let him do work.

Opposing teams know it’s coming, yet they can do nothing to stop it. Henry has shown no signs of slowing down whatsoever, and — health permitting — the Titans should be a playoff team with the running back leading the show.

In the middle of October, Derrick Henry is the MVP of the NFL and is on pace to post absurd video game numbers.
