Announced today (September 18), next year’s edition of the prestigious music awards ceremony will take place at The O2 in London on Saturday March 1.

This marks the third consecutive year that the event has been locked for in the primetime Saturday night slot and, as usual, the awards will be broadcast exclusively on ITV1 and ITVX.

It has also been shared that Damian Christian, Managing Director and President of Promotions at Atlantic Records, will be serving for his third and final year as Chair of the BRIT Committee for 2025. He has been in that role for the duration of Warner Music UK’s three-year tenure and oversees all aspects including performance bookings, hosts, show creative, digital, and award categories.

“It is a privilege, once again, to chair The BRITs for the third and final time. I’m proud of the changes we’ve implemented and the results we’ve achieved over the last few years, and I’m looking forward to going out with a bang in March,” Christian said.

“Making sure we kept our Saturday night slot was our first priority, and now we’ve locked that in, we will work hard to make next year’s show one for the history books!”

Along with Christian, Sally Wood will stay on as Executive Producer of the show, and Maggie Crowe – BPI’s Director of Events & Charities – will oversee the overall running of the event. Mastercard will be the headline sponsor for the 27th year, ITV will remain the official broadcaster for the 32nd year, and The O2 arena will host The BRITs for its 14th year.

Mastercard also continues to partner with the BRIT School to support the next generation of artists.

This year’s edition of The BRITs took place on March 2, and saw RAYE break the record for the most BRIT Award wins in a single night, taking home six of the seven trophies she was up for. Prior to her, no artist had won more than four BRITs in any one year, with Adele, Harry Styles and Blur each achieving that feat.

RAYE used one of her speeches to call on music executives to allow songwriters to receive royalty payments. “It doesn’t have to be at your expense, but it just means that if the songs win big, then the writers get to win big too. Please allow that to happen. Please, please, please. Thank you,” she said.

Other winners on the night included Dua Lipa, Calvin Harris, Miley Cyrus, Bring Me The Horizon, CASISDEAD, Chase & Status, Jungle, Boygenius, The Last Dinner Party and SZA.

Clara Amfo, Maya Jama and Roman Kemp hosted the 2024 ceremony, and the show saw live performances from Dua Lipa, Kylie Minogue, RAYE, Becky Hill, Chase & Status, Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding, Rema, Tate McRae and Jungle.

While the event seemed to thrive on social media – appealing to a younger demographic and seeing double the views of both show day content and the Red Carpet livestream on Instagram – viewers for the ITV broadcast dropped compared to 2023.

The 2023 edition saw performances from Harry Styles, Lizzo and Wet Leg, and reached a maximum live audience of 3.9million and an average of 3.3million. However, this year’s was viewed by 3million viewers at its peak – nearly a million fewer than last year. The numbers were taken from the overnight ratings and do not include viewers who will watch the show on catch-up.
