BLACKPINK‘s Jennie and aespa have been honoured at this year’s Billboard Women in Music Awards.

On February 13, Billboard announced the list of honourees for the highly anticipated 2025 iteration of the Billboard Women in Music Awards. Hosted by Emmy-nominated actress Laverne Cox, the awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on March 29 at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles.
Among the 10 honourees announced ahead of the ceremony, K-pop girl group aespa have been named Group Of The Year for “their groundbreaking achievements in music and international recognition”. Meanwhile, BLACKPINK singer Jennie is also being honoured with the Global Force prize for “her exploding global influence as she embarks on a solo career”, per a press release.
Presenters, performers as well as the grand prize of Woman of the Year for this year’s ceremony will be announced at a later stage. Public on-sale to the event is now open.

“We’re honoured to highlight their outstanding achievements and contributions through unforgettable performances, powerful tributes, and an evening that will truly shine a spotlight on their impact,” Billboard editorial director Hannah Karp said of this year’s slate of award winners in a press statement.
“It’s a privilege to continue Billboard’s tradition of recognising the women who are pushing the boundaries of music and culture, and we can’t wait to share this incredible night with our global audience,” she added.
Jennie is currently gearing up for the release of her solo debut album ‘Ruby’ on March 7, containing a total of 15 tracks with guest artists such as Childish Gambino, Dua Lipa, FKJ, Kali Uchis and more. The BLACKPINK singer is set to drop her fourth pre-release track titled ‘Extral’, in collaboration with Doechii on February 21.
Meanwhile, SM Entertainment dropped a preview of upcoming music releases slated for the first half of 2025 earlier this week. According to the label’s report, aespa are due to drop a new mini-album sometime in the second quarter of the year, with a specific release date yet unspecified. Other SM artists due to drop new music in the same period include Red Velvet sub-unit Irene & Seulgi, EXO’s Kai, NCT’s Mark and more.
