Just over a month ago, fans of the new sci-fi spin-off Star Trek: Starfleet Academy were in a great place. Not only did the final three episodes promise twists and turns aplenty, but the show had been renewed for a second installment, and it was revealed exclusively by Collider that filming had almost wrapped. What a difference a month makes, with it confirmed just yesterday that Star Trek: Starfleet Academy's upcoming sophomore season would be its last.
