You thought Mathematics only messed up your childhood, but here it is, still happily puncturing holes in Disney’s moment in the sun.
On the other end of the bridge, the studio is bringing back a classic with changes that shouldn’t have raised any complaints, but it is. Fortunately, it needs to pay heed to only the few quibbles that actually make sense. In any case, the real fire the Mouse House can’t seem to put out is a multi-million dollar project that successfully exceeded its budget, but drastically failed to meet expectations.
Disney to go against its new hobby to add a refurbished classic to its streamer
Does anyone have a total of the number of shows and movies that have been deleted from Disney Plus, Hulu, and Freeform? Anyway, Disney is taking a breather from its new passion by remastering its 1950 animated classic, Cinderella, and adding the same to Disney Plus on August 25, 2023.
But instead of calling out Disney for planning to malign the memory of the princess with Cinderella’s Curse, many in the comments mouthed off instead about their irritation with The Little Mermaid casting Halle Bailey as Ariel, or against the studio supporting LGBTQ+ rights. Well, bad news for these people, as Disney has a lot on its plate to deal with instead of focusing on their bigoted opinions.
One such problem has been added by the Television Academy…
Disney says Hulu earned 64 Emmy nominations, Television Academy says 42
The Emmy nominations for 2023 are out and HBO is once again the winner with 127 nominations. Netflix is at 103, Apple TV Plus at 50, while Prime Video and Hulu are each at 42, which is what Disney is not in agreement with because according to Dear Mouse, the number is 64.
This big 22 number difference happened because the Television Academy credited those noms to FX. But the problem is that the FX shows that got the nominations streamed solely on Hulu, which indirectly earns the streamer the honor.
Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion’s costly downhill nosedive gets more rotten
For the lack of a better and less biting phrase, Secret Invasion has been visibly struggling. Marvel’s TV series — after WandaVision — have failed (Loki was a win, but didn’t generate the same buzz) to create the level of hype enjoyed by even its most mediocre films, and Nick Fury’s bland solo venture has been unable to meet even that standard.
Complete with an over-inflated budget of over $200 million, Secret Invasion is on its fourth episode and reviews for the show have only declined in their opinion. From being expected to be Marvel’s answer to Andor, the series’ fourth episode — complete with yet another rotten rating — has only confirmed that despite its stellar cast, the show is disappointing with its poor grasp on what makes an action mystery thriller (as well as in presenting what the future of X-Men looks like)
Just dragging the story and then killing someone for shock value in every single episode is not the way you do it, Marvel.
