Kingpin Reportedly Returning In Both MCU And Sony Projects

If we’re to take the rampant speculation at face value, then Charlie Cox’s Daredevil is virtually guaranteed to be making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The actor has been linked with the web-slinging threequel for years, long before the multiverse was revealed to be in play, and there’s since been additional talk that he’s also on board for Disney Plus series She-Hulk.

Should Cox make his grand return to the canonical timeline, then fans will be crossing their fingers that Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin won’t be too far behind. After all, the two onscreen arch-enemies struck up a phenomenal combination of chemistry and rapport on Netflix, and it wouldn’t be hyperbolic to call the streaming service’s Wilson Fisk one of the best-ever Marvel villains we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting.

Like Cox, D’Onofrio has been heavily linked with a comeback, something he’s made pretty clear he’d be more than happy to oblige. We’ve now heard from our sources – the same ones who told us Abomination would be returning for She-Hulk long before Tim Roth was confirmed for the cast – that Kingpin is wanted for both Sony and Marvel projects.

According to our information, he’s still being lined up for guest spots on the MCU’s Hawkeye and Echo shows, which will in turn lead to big screen appearances. However, Kingpin is also reportedly being eyed for the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters. Interestingly, Sony still hold the movie rights to the character, while Marvel Studios control his small screen outings, so another deal may need to be reached should both parties end up getting their own way, with another comic book icon being added to their sharing scheme.
