Will Smith has been seen for the first time since he shocked the world when slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.
In photographs obtained by People magazine, the actor was seen taking photos with fans and one airport security guard today as he arrived at a private airport in Mumbai, India.
The 53-year-old is reportedly in the country to meet spiritual leader Sadhguru. Smith appeared in good spirits as he smiled for the photos, appearing casually dressed in a white t-shirt, shorts over compression tights and sneakers.
Indeed, the meeting comes after Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, revealed on her talk show, Red Table Talk, that her family was in "deep healing".
"Considering all that has happened in the last few weeks, the Smith family has been focusing on deep healing," read a message flashed on the screen ahead of the episode. "Some of the discoveries around our healing will be shared at the table when the time calls."
This isn't the first time Smith is meeting with the beloved guru – the actor, his wife and their children, Jaden and Willow, reportedly met with Sadhguru back in 2020 in LA.
However, this is the first time in nearly one month Smith has been seen in public since he slapped Rock across the face during the live Oscars telecast after the comedian made a joke about Pinkett Smith's bald head.
His behaviour shocked the star-studded audience and at-home viewers alike and left Hollywood divided. But the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences – the body that organisers the Oscars – was steadfast in suspending Spears from the Academy Awards until 2032.
Following his on-stage outburst, Smith won the Best Actor award for his role in King Richard. He apologised to the Academy and viewers in his acceptance speech but only apologised to Rock the day after.

Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada's medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally," he wrote in a statement released on Instagram.
"I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness."
