Tori Spelling's emotional update after horror car accident involving her kids: 'So lucky'

Tori Spelling has shared an emotional update on how she and her kids are after they were involved in a horror car accident days before Easter. 

The actress, 52, was in the car with four of her children and three of their friends when the crash happened, which resulted in hospitalisations. 

Clearly still shaken, the 90210 star shared more details and revealed how everyone is going, stressing they are OK in a clip shared on Instagram.

"I just wanted to reach out to everyone, and this took me a bit to post this because as most of you know, four of my kids and I and three of their friends were in a car accident a few days before Easter," she said. 

"We're OK, but it's been really overwhelming. We are so grateful and so lucky, because it could have been so much worse." 

Spelling claimed the driver that hit her car was speeding and going "crazy fast" before she believes he went through a red light.

"I'm just really grateful that in a split second, guardian angels were definitely with us that day," she continued. 

She said she looked to the right and saw the car "coming full on", and that there was a full impact with the side of her car. 

"I turned hard left as hard as I could, as fast as I could, to avoid as much impact on the children as possible," she continued. 

Spelling said her car spun during the collision. 

"I just want to thank all of the first responders on the scene, and to Inland Valley in Wildomar that took such great care of all of the kids and myself," she continued. 

"[I'm] grateful to everyone who has reached out and repeatedly checked on us and offered to do whatever we needed to get us through this and all the blessings everyone has sent, so thank you everybody." 

Spelling, who is the daughter of Hollywood producer Aaron Spelling, said she was still putting her thoughts together about what had happened, but has so much gratitude that everyone is OK.

"Grateful to all the first responders, to everyone that has reached out and checked on us, to all of you and your prayers, and to our guardian angels," she captioned the video on Instagram.

The comments section has been flooded with messages of love and support for Spelling and the kids now she's confirmed they're all fine.

News of the accident was first confirmed by TMZ, who also reported the other driver ran a red light.

According to the report, no arrests were made after those involved in the accident were evaluated.

Spelling shares five children with her ex-husband, actor Dean McDermott: Liam, 19, Stella, 17, Hattie, 14, Finn, 13, and Beau, nine.

The former couple recently finalised their divorce, which Spelling called the "easiest divorce in Hollywood".
