The 2023 Tony Awards were a big hit over the weekend!
The annual award ceremony, which recognizes excellence in live Broadway theatre, brought in a big numbers, according to Variety.
The outlet reports that the CBS airing of the show was “watched by 4.3 million people” on Sunday night (June 11). With that number, it marks the most-watched telecast since 2019.
In 2022, 3.9 million households tuned into the show, which marked the first-ever live coast-to-coast broadcast.
Paramount+ also reported that this years’ show was also the “most live-streamed show ever, with 13% streaming growth compared to last year.”
The pre-show, which aired on Pluto TV, also had big numbers, becoming “the most-watched live event ever since the free ad-supported platform launched in 2013.”
