The 2022 Oscars ceremony was certainly one for the history books, with dozens of iconic moments fans will talk about for years to come.
But the shocking moment when Smith stormed the stage and slapped comedian Rock for making a joke about his wife Jada's alopecia may have eclipsed some of the more wholesome interactions.
Here are some of the biggest moments from the 94th Academy Awards that were overshadowed by the incident.

Are Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons secretly married?
During a segment where host Amy Schumer booted Oscar-nominated actress Kirsten Dunst from her seat, her fiancé Jesse Plemons may have let slip a pretty big secret.
The couple have been engaged for the last few years, but Plemons referred to Dunst as his "wife" when Schumer jokingly called her a seat-filler.
The comedian's jibe didn't seem to land, with Plemons responding in a quite serious tone.
"You know that was my wife, right?" he said, prompting fans to speculate if the pair have married in secret. Watch above.

Dunst and Plemons share a three-year-old son, Ennis, and nine-month-old James, but the Power of the Dog actress told the Los Angeles Times she and her fiancé aren't married yet simply because of "timing".
"There was COVID, then we had another child. I didn't want to be pregnant, get married, have a party and not be able to have fun with everybody," she said.
Lady Gaga and Liza Minnelli's adorable moment
Lady Gaga and Liza Minnelli teamed up to present the night's final award, Best Picture.
The iconic duo had a sweet rapport as they announced CODA had taken home the gong, with Minnelli, 76, in a wheelchair on-stage.
There was a blink-and-you'll-miss-it between the actresses, who are also both accomplished singers, when Lady Gaga bent down to reassure the Hollywood legend.
"I got you," she could be heard saying as they both went to announce the winner.
Minnelli and Gaga looked like twins as they both wore shiny, all-black ensemble during the iconic moment.
Jane Campion wins Best Director
Jane Campion made history at the Oscars, becoming the first female director to be nominated twice for an Academy Award.
She brought home the Best Director gong for her work on The Power Of The Dog, and in her speech she made a special reference to her homeland of New Zealand, addressing the crowd with "Kia Ora".
Campion also won the same gong at the Critic's Choice Award, where she was blasted for her remark about Venus and Serena Williams' not playing "against the guys" like she does. She later apologised.
The Williams sisters were also in the audience when Campion accepted her Oscar award.

Jessica Chastain's first Oscar and heartfelt speech
Jessica Chastain won the Best Actress Oscar for her role in The Eyes of Tammy Faye, marking the third time she was nominated but her first win.
Chastain used her speech to show support for mental health and the LGBTIQ community.
"Right now we are coming out of some difficult times that are filled with trauma and isolation," she said.
"Suicide is a leading cause of death in the United States, it's touched many families. It's touched mine."
The Oscar-winning actress also slammed the "discriminatory and bigoted laws" in the US that hurt vulnerable members of the community. Chastain's speech then concluded with a sweet tribute to the woman she portrayed, Tammy Faye, and her "radical acts of love" and "compassion".

The Godfather reunion
The 2022 Oscars were reunion central, with actors from Hollywood blockbusters including Juno, Pulp Fiction and The Godfather taking the stage to celebrate anniversaries.
The Godfather stars Al Pacino Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and director Francis Ford Coppola appeared on stage — in the immediate aftermath of the incident between Smith and Rock — to the delight of their industry peers.
This year marks 50 years since the legendary crime drama premiered, but it still remains a firm favourite with both old and new fans, who gave the trio a standing ovation during the ceremony.
CODA wins all three Oscar nominations
CODA was nominated for a three Oscars this year – and the critically-acclaimed film took home all three categories.
It was an historic win for the deaf community after CODA won Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor for Troy Kotsur.
Kotsur joins his co-star Marlee Matlin as the only deaf actors ever win Oscars for acting.
The entire audience applauded in sign language as the CODA cast took to the stage to accept the gong.
"This is amazing to be here on this journey," Kotsur signed, as he accepted his Supporting Actor award. "I cannot believe I'm here."
