Taraji P. Henson is using her platform to addressing the Supreme Court reversing Roe V. Wade.
On Sunday night (June 26), the 51-year-old Empire actress served as the host for the 2022 BET Awards at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
In her opening monologue, Taraji slammed the Supreme Court for eliminating federal abortion protections and allowing states to proceed with banning abortion outright.

The BET Awards opened with a performance from Lizzo, who recently announced she will be donating $1 million to Planned Parenthood.
“Thank you to the amazing Lizzo, right? That’s how you start a show! Body positivity up in here. Also thank you, Lizzo, for pledging $1 million to Planned Parenthood,” Taraji said in her monologue.
“And you are damn right it’s about damn time we step into our power. It is about time we talk about the fact that guns have more rights than a woman. It’s a sad day in America,” Taraji continued. “A weapon that can take lives has more power than a woman who can give life if she chooses to.”
