Shakira has shared a devastating health update.
The Waka Waka hitmaker, 48, revealed she is "currently hospitalised" as a result of abdominal issues.
The star posted a heartbreaking statement, announcing she was forced to cancel her concert in Lima, Peru.

"I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and am currently hospitalised," the statement began.
"The doctors whose care I am currently under have communicated that I am not in good enough condition to perform this evening.
"I am very sad to not be able to take the stage today. I've been looking forward to reuniting with my incredible fans here in Peru.

"I hope to be released and well tomorrow so I'm able to perform. My team and the promoters are already working on a new date to communicate to you."
Shakira concluded her statement by writing, "Thank you all for your understanding. I love you all. Shak."
The Hips Don't Lie singer has embarked on her highly-anticipated Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, which began on February 12th in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The A-lister performed a second show in Sao Paulo and was set to perform in Lima before her hospitalisation.
Shakira is still slated to take to the stage in Colombia later this month, beginning with her native Barranquilla.
The tour, named after her 12th studio album, which dropped last year in March 2024, is set to conclude on June 30 with a final performance in San Francisco, USA.

Shakira's tour comes three years after she and her ex-partner Gerard Piqué announced their 11-year relationship had ended.
The Latin music sensation opened up about the heartbreaking experience in a recent interview with Rolling Stone.
"The suffering I felt was probably the greatest I had ever experienced in my entire life, and it kept me from functioning at times," she said.
"It felt like someone had stabbed a hole in my chest. And the sensation was so real, almost physical.

"I physically felt like I had a hole in my chest and that people could see through me."
While navigating a turbulent public breakup and trying to protect their two children, Milan and Sasha, Shakira was dealt two more blows.

The singer's dad had been hospitalised after suffering a fall with doctors warning he might not survive and a tax fraud case she had been facing since 2018 made headlines.
"When it rains, it pours," Shakira said of the challenging moments.
"It was crazy how many things I had to deal with at the same time."

"In finding this freedom, I also found myself," she told the publication.
"This has been a journey back to myself and the way there was through my music.
"I'm in a moment where the worst has happened, and this process woke up a new sense of autonomy and independence in me."
