Filmmaker Sukumar is set to reunite with actor Ram Charan for his next directorial venture, tentatively titled RC17. The pan-India film will bring the actor-director duo together for the second time after their acclaimed 2018 collaboration, Rangasthalam. The film is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Sukumar Writings and T-Series Films.
The makers have announced that the film's pooja ceremony will take place on November 1 at 10:50 am. The project was first announced in March 2024, when the production house described the collaboration as a reunion of the forces behind some of Telugu cinema's biggest successes. The film's title, cast and other details are yet to be officially revealed.

Ram Charan and Sukumar previously collaborated on Rangasthalam, a rural drama that received critical acclaim and emerged as a major commercial success. Set in a village, the film featured Ram Charan as Chitti Babu, a partially hearing-impaired man who becomes involved in local politics while trying to protect his brother. The film also starred Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Aadhi Pinisetty and Jagapathi Babu.
The reunion comes after Sukumar's Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, which continued the story introduced in Pushpa: The Rise and became one of the filmmaker's biggest projects. Ram Charan, meanwhile, was last seen in Peddi, a sports action drama directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The film also featured Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Divyenndu and Jagapathi Babu, with music composed by AR Rahman.

While details about RC17 remain under wraps, the film has generated considerable interest given the success of Rangasthalam. The makers have yet to announce the film's complete cast, technical crew or release date.
