MasterChef judge Andy Allen and wife Alex announce they're expecting a baby

MasterChef Australia judge Andy Allen is going to be a dad!

Allen, 37, and his wife Alexandra announced the exciting news on Instagram, posting pictures of the couple in a park with Allen's hand placed over his wife's bump.

"We've been cooking up something pretty special," the caption reads.

"Welcoming a little duckling in April."

Fans and fellow chefs took to the comments to celebrate, including Gordon Ramsey, who wrote: "Congratulations!"

Fellow MasterChef judge Sofia Klevin also commented: "BEST NEWS! Congrats lovers."

Judge Poh Ling Yeow also congratulated the couple, writing: "This is amazing news. Congrats you guys!"

The pair announced the pregnancy one month after their three-year wedding anniversary.

Alexandra posted a touching anniversary post to her Instagram last month.

"We started a tradition where we go back and watch our wedding video each anniversary and it just makes me the happiest person in the world reliving our celebration over and over," the caption read.

The post featured video clips from the pair's intimate wedding. 

Allen became a MasterChef judge in 2020.

He won the show in 2012 and has since been a notable food critic and chef ever since.

Allen is the co-owner and chef at Three Blue Ducks, which has locations in NSW and Victoria.

The restaurant aims to cook delicious food ethically, with the first restaurant opening in Bronte, in Sydney's east.
