Lainey Wilson received support from her fiancé, Devlin “Duck” Hodges, at the 2025 Country Music Association Awards.
The singer, 33, and the former NFL player, 29, walked the red carpet together on Wednesday, November 19, ahead of the ceremony at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Wilson was a vision in a head-to-toe teal look that included her signature bell bottoms as well as a gauzy cape and matching cowboy hat. Hodges, meanwhile, opted for a less vibrant outfit, wearing black pants, a tan coat and a brown leather vest. He subtly coordinated with his fiancée by accessorizing with a turquoise bolo tie that matched her ensemble.
Wilson is set to host the awards show solo for the first time after cohosting last year with singer Luke Bryan and former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning. She is also nominated in six categories: Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for Whirlwind, Song of the Year and Single of the Year for “4x4xU” and Music Video of the Year for “Somewhere Over Laredo.”
Wilson and Hodges have been dating since 2021, though the pair did not publicly confirm their relationship until making their red carpet debut at the ACM Awards in May 2023. Since then, Wilson has become more comfortable opening up about their romance.

In a June 2023 interview with People, Wilson explained that the pair met through mutual friends in Nashville.
“We went to this old place called Silverados, and it had free beer and wine from 5 to 10 p.m.,” she recalled. “I was like, ‘This boy likes to ball on a budget too. This is gonna work out.’”

Wilson then divulged why she waited two years to go public with Hodges. “I said, ‘We gonna see if you’re in it for the right reasons,’” she told the outlet.
“Turns out, he is,” she added. “It feels really good to talk about it.”

In February, Wilson announced she and Hodges are engaged. “4x4xU forever ❤️,” she captioned a set of Instagram photos from the proposal, referencing her hit Whirlwind single.
Wilson gushed over Hodges in her cover story interview with Us Weekly earlier this month, though she admitted they haven’t yet started planning their wedding.
“I’ve been so busy this year that we’re like, ‘We’re gonna figure it out, for sure,’ but he’s such a good dude,” she said. “He is my best friend. He is my biggest cheerleader. We lift each other up. He understands that this life is full of a lot of late nights and travel, and we might be just like ships passing in the night, but he’s always my rock through it all.”

She added that Hodges has made it much easier for her “to write a love song nowadays,” though he sometimes wonders if the heartbreak tunes are about him too.
“He’s like, ‘Hold up a minute,’” Wilson told Us with a laugh. “I’m like, ‘Not everything is about you!’”
When Wilson took home her historic Entertainer of the Year trophy at the 2023 CMA Awards, she gave Hodges a special shout-out in her acceptance speech, telling her then-boyfriend from the stage, “I love you, Duck.”
