Kacey Musgraves reschedules concert after breaking a rib: 'No physical way I can get on a plane'

A county music star had to cancel her recent show after breaking a rib in a major fall.

American singer Kacey Musgraves, known for hits like Butterflies, shared an X-Ray image of her ribcage with a red circle around the break to her Instagram Stories.

"Sooo I'm in Mexico with a f-----g broken rib," the singer, 36, told her 2.7 million followers.

"Wednesday night it was raining and I was running to grab some towels and had an extremely hard fall on some very slick tile I didn't see."

Musgraves said she fell "very very hard" on her back left ribcage and broke her sixth rib.

"This s--- is no joke. I'm in a lot of pain and doing anything is extremely difficult but I'm managing and being well taken care of," she continued.

The star told her fans there was "no physical way" she could fly to Nashville to perform.

Musgraves was scheduled to perform on June 22 for the Sing For Science event.

"I am extremely bummed to have to reschedule as I have been looking forward to this for months but there is literally no other option," she explained.

The singer apologised for any inconvenience and confirmed the rescheduled date would be September 18, 2025. 

Musgraves shared a short clip zooming in on her broken rib in the X-Ray Image.

Showing a close up of the break, the singer simply captioned it with the word, "pain".

Musgraves has been in the country music scene since the 2000s and is known for hits like Happy & Sad, Rainbow, and Follow Your Arrow. 

She has eight Grammy Awards to her name, including Best Country Album.
