John Legend will be premiering one of his brand new songs at the 2022 Emmy Awards tonight.
The 43-year-old musician will perform on stage during the In Memorium segment and play “Pieces”, which is off of his newest album, Legend.
“This is an incredulous powerful moving song,” executive producer Reginald Hudlin shared with Deadline. “You guys are all fans of John Legend, you know how he can grab straight in your heart and break you down. … A John Legend performance is always something to be excited about and the song is unique and special and uniquely suited to the context we’ll be putting it in.”
The 2022 Emmy Awards will air TONIGHT, Monday, September 12 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on NBC, and also be streaming on Peacock.
