'It's bittersweet': Jonathan Bailey stuns thousands as he makes a surprise appearance at TikTok Awards

The Sexiest Man Alive (according to People's annual accolade) surprised thousands at social media's night of nights – marking the latest of his unexpected pop-up appearances across Sydney.

Wicked star Jonathan Bailey made an appearance at the 2025 TikTok Awards that took place in Sydney last night, walking out onto the stage to a cheering crowd.

TikTok Awards host Sophie Monk donned a Glinda-inspired crown and wand as she welcomed the famous actor on to the stage to present an award.

Bailey walked out onto the stage wearing a pair of leather-look pants, a knit sweater and a pair of black shades.

He gave Monk a hug as she welcomed him to the audience.

When asked how he feels about his time with the Wicked films coming to an end, he reveals that "it's bittersweet".

The best part of the experience, Bailey told the crowd was "being surrounded by incredibly creative people [every day]".

"We've all been changed for good," he added.

Bailey then went on to present the TikTok For Good Award to wildlife conservationist Josh Neille.

"This year's TikTok For Good nominees are using their platform to create genuine impact," Bailey said.

"They remind us that one video, one message, one spark of humanity can ripple outwards and change lives."

The crowd at the TikTok awards were clearly thrilled by Bailey's surprise appearance but it's not the first time he's left crowds stunned recently.

Earlier this week, Bailey surprised a cinema full of Wicked fans during a Wicked: For Good screening at Broadway, Sydney.

Australian radio presenter Smallzy helped pull off the surprise, introducing Bailey to the unsuspecting cinema-goers.

Speaking to Today host Karl Stefanovic earlier this week, Smallzy gushed about how "nauseatingly lovely" the Wicked star was during the experience.

After his appearance at the TikTok Awards last night, the English actor made a similar surprise appearance at a bingo night at Sydney's Beresford Hotel.

Bailey's surprise appearances come as he is currently in town to visit his Australia-based sister and nieces.
