Inside the whirlwind romance of Rebel Wilson and Ramona Agruma

Rebel Wilson and her wife Ramona Agruma have experienced a true whirlwind romance.

The pair went from meeting through a mutual friend to getting married, welcoming a child and expecting a second in just over three years.

As the Aussie actress and the Lemon Ve Limon founder prepare to welcome another daughter, we thought we'd take a look back at how their relationship blossomed.

A famous Cupid

The couple were introduced through a mutual friend, Aussie actor Hugh Sheridan.

The Packed to the Rafters star told 2Day FM he loves playing matchmaker and had been trying to match Wilson, 45, and Agruma, 41, with other people for years.

"Both were really hard to set up. Ramona is really smart, and Rebel is really smart," he remarked in the interview.

"I was in New York with my ex and feeling very sad, and Rebel said she can't imagine how I feels because she's never been in love before!

"I thought, 'Gosh, she's a hard one to crack.' So I thought of Ramona straight away."

Early on in their relationship, Wilson told People she was dating someone new.

"We spoke on the phone for weeks before meeting. And that was a really good way to get to know each other," she said.

"It was a bit old-school in that sense – very romantic. It feels different to be in a really healthy relationship."

The perfect pairing

Agruma is the founder of the LA-based clothing brand Lemon Ve Limon.

While she has never been in the spotlight, she has undertaken business ventures of her own. 

She has a long career history in luxury fashion, founding the jewellery brand DeLys back in 2013 serving as creative director.

Before marrying Wilson, she was a very private person, so we don't know anything about her dating history. 

Of course, we know Wilson is a powerhouse producer, director and actress - so it only makes sense the pair share a solid work ethic and passion for what they do.

How their love story played out

The pair have been together for at least three years, according to Agruma's anniversary post on Instagram.

"Happy 1 year anniversary to us my love. One year married and nearly 4 years together," the post reads.

"Cheers to our love and our family. I love you"

Although we don't know for sure when they started dating, the pair were first linked publicly in January 2022.

Not only did Agruma accompany the Pitch Perfect star to the 2022 Vanity Fair Oscars after party in March, but they also attended a ski charity event together in April.

Wilson has also shared photos of them together on Instagram – at a football game together in January, and roasting marshmallows together in April.

Sheridan also shared a carousel of photos of the couple to his own Instagram, as further proof they've been together in secret for quite a while.

The pair got engaged in February 2023.

Wilson popped the question at Disneyland, with the pair posting the news to Instagram.

They were later married in two wedding ceremonies, including a destination wedding in Sardinia, Italy, in September 2024, followed by a legal ceremony in Sydney, Australia, in December 2024. 

The pair recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary. 

Family life

Wilson and Agruma have one child and a second on the way.

The Aussie actress welcomed daughter Royce via surrogate in November 2022 – a journey she'd started back in 2019, before ever meeting Agruma.

She told E! News that despite planning to have a child on her own, she met Agruma at the right time.

"It's weird. It's kind of like she came into my life at the exact right time, and then the surrogate getting pregnant and Ramona was really into that," she said.

"It was kind of awesome. It just kind of came together at the right moment."

The couple are now expecting their second child, with Agruma carrying the baby herself.
