'I don't want to be known': Suits star Gabriel Macht reflects on new-found 'anonymity' after relocating from the US wife Jacinda Barrett

Suits star Gabriel Macht has reflected on his decision to relocate from the US with his wife and family, saying his values his privacy above all else.

Despite being one of TV's biggest names and famous faces in the world thanks to the popular show, Macht, 53, told People this week that he has lots of "anonymity" where they're living now.

"I am absolutely in love with my anonymity, and so when I'm working and I've got the suit on and someone wants to know something, I try my best to give a moment," he told the publication.

"But when I'm not working, I don't want to be known."

He added that he was "thinking" of their kids with his decision and said: "I want to be invisible and all that stuff."

The actor previously told People he was "based somewhere in Europe," and the news was published by various international outlets, but it seems that information of the exact continent they're now on has been taken out of the original story.

He previously told People he and his family had "decided to explore the world" after having been based in New York.

However, he is making a return to the TV in the new Suits spin off, Suits LA, which stars Stephen Amell, Bryan Greenberg and Lex Scott Davis.

He and wife Barrett, 52, who hails from Brisbane and is known for her roles in Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and also starred in Suits, tied the knot back in 2004.

And despite working on the hit show together, the pair didn't meet on the set of Suits.

He previously told Glamour they met on a blind date.

"On a blind date. I picked three different restaurants; she said yes to one of them. We closed down the place, and we've been together ever since," he said.

"She had me laughing, she was a great listener and she was able to balance a conversation where it wasn't just all about her or me."

In 2019, he shared a rare but sweet tribute to his wife as they marked their anniversary.

Underneath a selfie of the pair together, he wrote: "No words other than... 15 years by law and 19 total. Happy Anniversary."

He added: "😘 #iloveitwhenyouwhisperinmyear
