Soon enough, the 44-year-old had some stars in his firing line, such as Leonardo DiCaprio.
"Zendaya turned 26 last week," Thompson began his joke she pointed to the actress in the crowd. "Weird age in Hollywood – young enough to be a Hollywood student, but too old to date Leonardo DiCaprio."

"Regina Hall fresh off hosting gig at the Oscars," Thompson said, before this cheeky comment: "Surprise she's at another awards show. You're brave."

"Martin Short and Steve Martin seated at the front," he pointed out of the Lead Actor in a Comedy Series nominees. "If they win, it will take 15 minutes to walk up front."
