Audra McDonald walks the red carpet with her husband, Will Swenson, at the 2020 Tony Awards on Sunday (September 26) at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City.
The 51-year-old actress will be hosting the award ceremony, which will honor the best of Broadway’s 2019-20 season!
The ceremony was delayed from June 2020, due to pandemic restrictions.
“It’s been a long time since we’ve had hosts of color up there,” Audra shared with the New York Times about the ceremony, which she’ll host with Leslie Odom, Jr., “It models something, seeing two hosts of color representing theater and the Tonys.”
Paramount+ will stream the two-hour Tony Awards ceremony starting at 7pm ET and CBS will then air a two-hour primetime special, The Tony Awards Present: Broadway’s Back!, starting at 9pm ET.
The primetime special will include performances from beloved classics and the three Best Musical nominees.
