Pedro Pascal

He might be Hollywood's golden boy at the moment, but Pedro Pascal's Emmy nomination is quite controversial.
**Spoilers for The Last of Us Season 2 below**
The Last of Us star is up for Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Joel Miller in Season 2, despite dying in the first episode.
Many thought he wouldn't even make the cut for the supporting actor category, but apparently the Television Academy though differently.
Bella Ramsay

Bella Ramsey is up for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series for their role as Ellie in the hit show – which is also up for Best Drama Series.
Despite being non-binary, Ramsay has been placed in the Best Actress category, which they have previously said they're not offended by saying that the gendered categories are important because, "it's so important... that the recognition for women in this industry is preserved."
"I think the gendered categories conversation's a really interesting one and I don't have the answer. I wish that there was something that was an easy way around it," they said during an appearance on Louis Theroux's podcast.
"I think that it is really important that we have a female category and a male category - but then, where do non-binary and gender con-conforming people fit into that? I don't know.
"I've literally sat and tried to think my way to the answer, and haven't got there."

While she may not have a solo nod, as one of the series' stars she'll surely be taking to the stage if The Last of Us is announced as the winner of Best Drama Series.

Colin Farrell is in good company as he's nominated for Best lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series for his role in The Penguin.
He's up against Adolescence's Stephen Graham, Presumed Innocent's Jake Gyllenhaal, Dope Thief's Brian Tyree Henry and Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story's Cooper Koch.

"Piper, nooooo"

But it wasn't just fans that loved her performance but also seemingly the Television Academy as she scored a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Sam Rockwell

Sam Rockwell also made an appearance, posing with his The White Lotus co-star.
While he may not have entered until later in the season, he still managed to snag a spot on the list of nominees for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
Jason Isaacs

Rockwell is up against some tough competition!
Jason Isaacs is also nominated for his role in the hit show, with a third member of the crew, Walton Goggins, also nominated in the same category however he was not in attendance at the HBO celebration event.
Natasha Rothwell

She starred in the original season and came back for season three, so hopefully she gets her Emmy this year!
Natasha Rothwell is up against Posey, as well as fellow The White Lotus stars Carrie Coon and Aimee-Lou Wood for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
