'Have a great night, rest in peace': Everyone Sam Pang roasted in his brutal Logies opening speech

Sam Pang did not hold back in his opening speech at the 2025 Logies; absolutely nobody was safe as he called out nearly all the nominees.

The awards show kicked off with a performance by Aussie Rocker Jimmy Barnes singing his iconic hit Working Class Man.

Pang came out afterwards to start his speech, opening with "Jimmy Barnes, singing 'Working Class Man?'" with a strong hint of sarcasm.

The show started with a performance by Aussie Rocker Jimmy Barnes singing his smash hit Working Class Man.

"I can't think of a song that has less of a connection to the people in this room tonight."

TV Legend Ray Martin wasn't safe from Pangs' targeted humour, with the host mentioning he new Logie named after the journalist.

"A journalist for over 60 years, even at the age of 80, he remains one of this country's most inquisitive minds," Pang said.

"Ray is always asking questions, even tonight I saw him on the red carpet and he asked me, 'Sam, where am I?'"

"Ray have a great night, rest in peace."

He then turned his attention to Aussie supermarket giants Woolworths and Coles.

"Farmer Wants A Wife has an incredible success rate," he said.

"Over its 15 seasons, the show has resulted in 11 marriages and 27 children, meaning it is now officially the main way for farmers in this country to get screwed outside of Coles and Woolies."

Nine's Married at First Sight took several jabs from Pang, with the most memorable an "idea" the comedian had for upcoming dinner parties.

"I've actually got an idea for next season – I think they should cast the mushroom lady as the caterer."

He then turned his attention to Network 10's new show 10News+ which replaced The Project.

"Channel 10 replaced The Project with 10News+, which is like the Titanic replaced with the OceanGate Submarine."

Today Show host Karl Stefanovic also got a mention by Pang.

"Congratulations to Karl Stefanovic, who this year is celebrating 20 years on The Today Show.

"Sincerely Karl, well done on 20 informative, entertaining and (underpaid) co-hosts."

All of the Golden Logie nominees copped a spray from Pang, starting with Sonia Kruger.

"This year, Sonia has promised that if she wins, she'll deliver a coherent speech," he said.

Next was Lynne McGranger, who has been on Home and Away for over 33 years.

"There's a lot of speculation about how her character Irene will depart," he said.

"Lynne has been working with the writers on her farewell story, and in a Logies exclusive I can reveal that – Irene is set to die tragically but happily, during an orgy with the Summer Bay Under 21s rugby team."

Julia Morris was next, Pang taking a stab at her for being nominated several times but never winning.

"This funny, talented woman has been nominated several times for the Gold Logie, but never won," he quipped.

"I said those exact words last year and I must remember to use them again next year.

"I have it on good authority won't be here next year, don't worry."

Lisa Millar and the ABC show Muster Dogs: Where are they now?

"I don't know if I've ever been less interested in the answer to a question," he said.

Nine's A Current Affair program wasn't safe either, with host Ally Langdon up for the Gold Logie too.

"Ally has said a vote for her is a vote for all the incredible people who make A Current Affair possible," Pang said.

"The producers, the crew, the dodgy plumbers, casanova conmen and the neighbours from hell."

He continued his speech by calling out Hamish Blake, the only man nominated for the Golden Logie this year.

"I voted for ... Hamish, not because I don't support women, but because I want to see him deliver the most awkward acceptance speech of all time.

"Hamish, good luck and now you know how it feels to be the diversity pick."

He finished his speech by throwing a jab at nominee Poh Ling Yeow.

"You should be easy to find in this room! Poh is the first Asian to take home Gold, since prospector Chung Lee Wong struck gold in Ballarat in 1854," he said.

"Good to have a horse in the race.

"Many of you may not know but Poh and I go way back...to the Ming dynasty."
