'Got some news': Tammy Hembrow and Bailey Smith attempt to trick fans after months of dating rumours

Tammy Hembrow and Bailey Smith just hard-launched on Instagram, but not in the way you're thinking.

The pair, who have been dodging dating rumours for months, just "made it official" on their Instagram accounts in a marketing stunt for dating app Tinder.

What did they actually make official as part of the brand deal? That they're "just friends."

"Righto guys, I've got some news," Smith, 25, said in the video from the front seat of his car.

"You know I've been on Tinder lately, checking out some talent, and I want to hard launch someone today."

Hembrow, 31, then popped out from behind him, saying hello, before Smith continued.

"Tammy and I have decided we're going to make it official, we're going to be each other's tinder coaches this summer."

"Yep," Hembrow added, "Now that we're just mates, who better than to help you with your dating game than a friend?"

Hembrow also posted a video to her own Instagram from the same car.

"I know you guys have been wondering if the rumours about me and a certain athlete are true... well I've got some news," she explained.

A muscular bicep then popped out from behind the seat before the influencer continued.

"They are true... now that we're officially just mates, we are pairing up to be each other's Tinder coaches this summer."

Just two days ago, the pair fuelled dating rumours again when Hembrow posted a selfie with Bailey, wearing the same top and hairstyle as she was wearing in the videos posted today.

We know now they were only together to film the content for the brand deal. 

Smith later posted a snap to his own Instagram stories of an unidentified woman with blonde hair.

The pair first sparked dating rumours when they were spotted together, hand-in-hand, at the Gold Coast's Burleigh Pavilion in August.

Just weeks later, Hembrow posted a photo of herself and Smith enjoying a dinner date at Melbourne's Entrecôte restaurant.

In snaps from the night that the pair both shared to their Instagram stories, Hembrow could be seen holding Smith's thigh under the table.

Despite the telling snaps, Smith later revealed in a conversation on the Kyle and Jackie O Show in September that he and Hembrow were "just mates".

The rumours they are addressing have been swirling for months, following Hembrow's divorce from Matt Zukowski.

It was expected that Hembrow would join Smith at the 2025 Brownlow Medal Awards ceremony, but when Kyle Sandilands asked about it, he confirmed she wouldn't be there.

"I didn't want to bore her with footy all night. She's not a big footy fan. And we're just mates," he responded.

Weeks later, Hembrow appeared in a dating app campaign, revealing that she was single.

"The rumours are true, I'm officially in my new dating era," she said in the campaign.
