The 68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023 with Maharashtra Tourism will be held on April 27, 2023, at the Jio World Conventional Centre in Mumbai. The event promises to be a star-studded celebration of the best Hindi cinema has to offer in 2022. Meena Kumar was the first ever recipient of the Filmfare Award for the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female). It was Baiju Bawra (1952), the film which catapulted her into the limelight and bagged her the prestigious award. Meena Kumari also achieved an unusual feat by garnering all of the nominations in the category in 1963 with no other actress being nominated (3 nominations that single year). No other actress has equaled this record. Meena Kumari has won the Filmfare Award for the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) four times with the following films: Baiju Bawra (1953), Parineeta (1954), Sahib Bini Aur Ghulam (1962) and Kajal (1965).

On screen, Madhuri Dixit is dazzling, and her acting skills frequently has you spellbound. She established a name for herself in the art world as well, shining in less glamorous roles with the same ease as in mainstream movies. She has bagged the Filmfare Award for the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) four times for Dil (1990), Beta (1992), Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994), Dil Toh Pagal Hai (1997).

Vyjayanthimala, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, and Alia Bhatt have 3 wins each

Vyjayanthimala has won the award for Sadhna (1958), Gunga-Jumna (1961) and Sangam (1964).

Jaya Bachchan has won the award for the following films: Abhimaan (1973), Kora Kaagaz (1974) and Naukar (1979).

Alia Bhatt has received the award for her work in Udta Punjab (2016), Raazi (2018) and Gully Boy (2019).


Best Actress


Eight actresses have won the award twice; in chronological order, they are Waheeda Rehman, Dimple Kapadia, Rekha, Sridevi, Karisma Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, Rani Mukerji and Deepika Padukone.
