Jameela Jamil has clarified her stance on feminism, after scathing texts regarding a fellow actress were included in unsealed court documents.
Jamil found herself embroiled in the ongoing legal disputes between Blake Lively and ex-co star Justin Baldoni, with evidence of Jamil referring to Lively as a "suicide bomber" and a "villain" recently coming to light.
The The Good Place star is an outspoken advocate for intersectional equality, but has landed in hot water in the wake of the now-public texts.
Taking to Instagram, Jamil sought to reaffirm her staunch advocacy for women, saying feminist views do not require that you "like every woman."
"Guys, feminism means fighting for the political, social and economic equity of women, for women, just gender equity," Jamil clarified in a video posted to her Instagram story.
"It does not mean you have to like every single woman. It doesn't mean you have to be friends with every single woman."
She went on to add that women are allowed to "beef with other women" while still advocating for equality.

"That's all feminism is. It is a moral and political stance. It is not a sleepover where we braid each other's pubes OK?"
She concluded the video by stating that disliking another woman does not make you a "bad feminist."
"You're still a feminist. Keep fighting for those rights, and thank you for fighting for those rights."
Jamil previously hit headlines this week, when the texts in question between she and Justin Baldoni's Publicist, Jennifer Abel, were released.

"I want to officially incorporate nightmare c--- and demon c--- into my vocabulary; UNBELIEVABLE," Abel wrote of Lively.
"She's doing this to herself," she added, to which Jamil responded, "She's a suicide bomber at this point."
Jamil also added that Lively appeared to be putting on a "bizarre villain act" in the explosive exchange.
Lively has been enmeshed in an ongoing legal saga with Baldoni since late 2024, following bombshell sexual harassment allegations made by the actress.
Lively claimed she'd been the victim of "severe emotional distress" while on set for the film adaptation of It Ends With Us, which Baldoni both directed and starred in alongside her.
Baldoni has vehemently denied these claims, launching a countersuit against Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds for defamation and extortion.
