Pooja Bhatt's big screen Bollywood debut, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, was a massive success when it was released in 1991. The film also starred actor Aamir Khan in the lead role opposite Bhatt. Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin was based on the Oscar winning 1934 Hollywood movie, It Happened One Night and was directed by filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. Today, as the film marks 30 years of its release, Pooja Bhatt has shared some memories about the movie, including the fact that some had dubbed the film "too risky".
30 yrs of #dilhaikemantanahin Gratitude to #GulshanKumar for bankrolling a film that experts said was too risky, where a woman runs away from home to marry someone, then changes her mind & runs away from the mandap to marry someone else. While Aamir Khan had already delivered hits like the 1988 film, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and the 1990 film, Dil, it was Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin that showed the world that he was here to stay.
Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin was a success also because of its OST which featured chartbusters like Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, Tu Pyaar Hai Kisi Aur Ka and Adayein Bhi Hain.
