Silverchair members Ben Gillies and Chris Joannou are releasing a tell-all memoir without the involvement of their former frontman, Daniel Johns.
Early promos of the book, titled Love & Pain, have been released on social media, which share that the story will be told solely by Gillies and Joannou, who also commented on the book's release.
"When Ben and I first discussed the idea of writing a book, I realised it would be an opportunity to celebrate some of the awesome times the two of us shared and lived together, as well as reflect on some of the hard times – in the band and in our lives," Joannou said in an announcement," Joannou said in a statement released by the book's publisher Hachette Australia.

"This book is a keepsake for both of us, and a reminder that there is some beauty in addressing the truth of things, as well as paying respects to all aspects – good, bad and indifferent – of our story."
Gillies added, "Fundamentally, our story is a great one. An extraordinary one. Some of it may seem beyond belief, but we lived it. We were there. It all happened. I want to document it for my sons to read when they're old enough – and we owe it to our incredibly loyal fans."
According to a blurb of the book posted to Gillies' Instagram page, the memoir tells "the story of two teenagers who grew up in Silverchair".

"Parts of this book we tell together, but some stories need to be told alone. Silverchair is a big part of our stories, but there's more to tell... This is our story."
The promotions for the book so far make no direct mention of Silverchair's third embattled member, Daniel Johns, who was spared jailtime last year when he crashed his car while driving under the influence on the wrong side of the road, seriously injuring two people in March 2022.
