Controversial country star Morgan Wallen flips piano on stage

Controversial country singer Morgan Wallen shocked fans when he flipped over and broke the piano he was playing on stage.

The 33-year-old was performing a concert in Denver during his Still The Problem Tour when the eye-opening incident happened.

As he sang his song Sand In My Boots, the piano appeared to break, and he walked away, singing without it.

He then decided to shove the piano and its bench over, with pieces of wood breaking off.

That's despite a camera operator standing nearby.

The audience gasped as the piano broke, with the singer stalking off to continue the song acapella.

Some fans encouraged his behaviour.

"Flip it again. HE DONT NEED NO PIANO. He CAN sing! 👏" said one.

"My guy gotta temper and we're here for it," another said.

"Rockstars break instruments on stage all the time. Smashing guitars and stuff. Go off, Morgan! 🎹🤠" one pointed out.

"The guy was pissed his piano didn't work for a show people paid to see 🔥 Pretty reasonable reaction if you ask me," one fan reasoned.

But many were shocked at the behaviour the singer exhibited.

"Grown professional if you can believe it," said one.

"He's still the problem 😂" added another, riffing on the name of the tour.

"Something my toddler would do 🤪 Poor baby" one shared.

"I love his music but come on. Glad he didn't hit anyone with it. Geez, that's professional and mature 🙄" another fan pointed out.

This is not the first time Wallen has destroyed property.

Two years ago, the singer was arrested after throwing a chair off a bar rooftop in Nashville.

He faced three felony counts of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanour count of disorderly conduct, but he pled guilty to two misdemeanour counts of reckless endangerment, which led to him serving seven days in a DUI centre.

He paid a $350 fine and was given two years of probation.

He had reportedly been upset about his ex Katie "KT" Smith's elopement marriage to content creator Luke Scornavacco.

Wallen and Smith dated from 2016 to 2017, and got engaged.

They called off the engagement in 2018, broke up in 2019, but then welcomed their son Indigo in July 2020.

After the incident, he made a public statement which read, "I didn't feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks.

"I've touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief's. I'm not proud of my behaviour, and I accept responsibility."

Wallen started his music career when he competed on The Voice in 2014, though he was eliminated in the playoffs.

He has since been nominated for two Grammys and has recently won Best Male Country Artist at the 2026 American Music Awards.
