CODA has made history at the 2022 Oscars!
The movie won the award for Best Picture at the 2022 Academy Awards on Sunday (March 27) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
The heartwarming movie also won the awards for Best Supporting Actor for Troy Kotsur and Best Adapted Screenplay for Sian Heder, picking up all three awards it was nominated for.

CODA just helped Apple TV+ become the first streaming service to ever win the Best Picture award at the Oscars, beating out Netflix who had the other frontrunner, The Power of the Dog.
With only three nominations in total, CODA is the fourth movie to ever win Best Picture while having less than four total nominations. The last time this happened was 90 years ago! Wings won in 1927 with two nominations, The Broadway Melody won in 2929 with three nominations, and Grand Hotel won in 1932 with one nomination.
CODA is also the third film to ever win Best Picture and not receive nominations in the Best Director or Best Film Editing categories. The other two are Wings and Grand Hotel.
CODA is also the first movie with a primarily deaf cast to win Best Picture!
