Melissa McCarthy had a big fashion moment at the 2023 Academy Awards
The 52-year-old actress hit the red carpet in a stunning Christian Siriano look for the big event on Sunday (March 12) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood – and it was created with just days to go ahead of the show.
If you recall, Christian‘s studio actually flooded earlier in the week when a pipe burst, and Melissa‘s original dress was one of the pieces that didn’t survive it.
“Everything was okay, but it wasn’t perfect — and it has to be perfect on a night like tonight or they just won’t wear it,” he told E!. “So we were just freaking out all day.”
He added, “It’s a big moment. She’s about to be in such an incredible film for Disney playing Ursula in The Little Mermaid, how fabulous. So I just wanted to give her a really fabulous fashion moment.”
