Britney Spears' dad accuses her of ruining his reputation

Britney Spears' dad, Jamie, has filed court documents accusing the pop star of running a smear campaign against him on social media.

According to TMZ, the 69-year-old is also worried that Britney's upcoming memoir will also drag his name through the mud.

He wants Britney deposed in court so he can fight allegations that, during her conservatorship, she was forced to give tubes of blood for medical treatment, forced to participate in therapy and wasn't allowed access to pain-relieving medication.

Almost immediately after Jamie filed the court documents, Britney's lawyer responded to his claims, dismissing them as entirely false.

According to attorney Matthew Rosengart, Jamie "continues to disgrace himself, especially through this most-recent foolish and ill-advised filing, which is riddled with errors and falsehoods, as he himself knows."

In a statement to Page Six, Britney's lawyer added: "In addition to trying to bully his own daughter, he is now pathetically reduced to trying to intimidate her, while abusing the legal process and running and hiding from his own deposition."

"Anyone else would be ashamed by these tactics, but he and his representatives are truly shameless. In terms of 'impugning his character,' Mr. Spears did that to himself long ago."

Rosengart also pointed out that Jaime has refused to appear in court to be deposed for the alleged misconduct that Britney endured during her conservatorship.

Britney's 13-year conservatorship was dissolved in November last year after a highly public court battle. The 'Toxic' singer claims that she suffered abuse at the hands of her father during her conservatorship. Britney compared him to a sex trafficker and said he "loved" having "control" over her.

Jamie – and the rest of Britney's family – was noticeably absent from her wedding to Sam Asghari last weekend. Britney's mother Lynn, sister Jamie Lynn, and her father, were not invited to the wedding ceremony nor the reception, in the wake of Britney's conservatorship battle.

Jamie Lynn and Britney in particular have been feuding, after Jamie Lynn released a memoir that detailed her sister's conservatorship, which Britney has claimed is full of "misleading or outrageous" claims about her.

Britney deleted her Instagram account yesterday after her mother replied to one of her posts with an eye-roll emoji.
