Aussie musician G Flip reveals hilarious reason why they didn't invite family to ARIAs

Aussie musician G Flip has shared the hilarious reason why they didn't invite any family to the 2022 ARIAs.

The LA-based Melbourne singer walked the red carpet at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney this evening with their girlfriend, Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause, but none of their family members tagged along.

"My first ARIAs was in 2019 and I brought my whole entire family and they got so drunk they almost got kicked out," the 28-year-old told 9Honey Celebrity at the event. "No family here tonight but in the future years, I'm gonna give them a second chance."

But G Flip – who is non-binary and identifies as they/them – was more than happy to have their American girlfriend by their side. 

While hosting the ceremony on stage alongside Natalie Imbruglia and Ruel, G Flip – real name Georgia Claire Flip – praised their date, Stause, who they met through fellow Aussie musician Tones and I.  

"She is over there, she is so good-looking and has a heart of gold and smells like dreams," G Flip told the crowd as Stause looked on lovingly. "But the real hero is actually Tones and I, who introduced us. So Tones wrote the smash hit Dance Monkey, made heaps of cash and then wanted to buy an LA mansion and reached out to LA's best real estate agent, my baby girl."

Ever the doting girlfriend, earlier in the night, Stause expressed how proud she was of G Flip hosting the event. 

"All glammed up and we are headed to the ARIAs," the reality star in an Instagram Stories video of the couple en route to the event. "You are presenting, you are hosting. This will be fun."
