Angela Bassett just made history!
The 64-year-old actress won the award for Best Supporting Actress at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Tuesday night (January 10) in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Angela is now the first person to win an acting award at the Golden Globes for a Marvel movie after winning for her work in the movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
During her emotional acceptance speech, Angela made sure to thank Chadwick Boseman, who passed away before he was able to star in the movie and continue the franchise.
Also nominated in the category were The Banshees of Inisherin‘s Kerry Condon, Everything Everywhere All at Once‘s Jamie Lee Curtis, Triangle of Sadness‘ Dolly de Leon, and She Said‘s Carey Mulligan.
FYI: Angela is wearing a Pamella Roland dress, Sarah Flint heels, and Chopard jewelry.
