Andrew Garfield and Monica Barbaro attend Venice Film Festival - but leave fans waiting for a red carpet debut

Patience continues to be a virtue for fans awaiting a red carpet debut from Andrew Garfield and Monica Barbaro.

Weeks after making their first public joint appearance at Wimbledon, the actors – who've been linked since the start of this year – have attended the Venice International Film Festival together.

Although they arrived in the Italian canal city hand-in-hand ahead of the premiere of Garfield's new movie After the Hunt, they opted to walk the red carpet separately.

Barbaro turned heads in a black Dior dress, sculpted with dramatic pleats and draping, while Garfield wore a blue-grey suit with an unbuttoned shirt, all by Dior Men.

The After the Hunt premiere was a star-studded one, with Julia Roberts, Chloe Sevigny and Ayo Edibiri also in attendance.

Garfield and Barbaro aren't the only famous couple to take their time making their debut on the red carpet.

During the Cannes Film Festival in May, Gracie Abrams and Paul Mescal took a similar approach, attending the event together but walking the red carpet separately.

In fact, the Gladiator II star and the That's So True singer still haven't hit the ruby rug together, and only went Instagram-official in June after a year of dating.

Similarly, Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner took two years to make their red carpet debut.

In May, the couple arrived hand-in-hand at the 70th David di Donatello ceremony in Rome, after consistenly making separate appearances throughout two awards seasons.

As for Garfield and Barbaro, perhaps their big debut will finally come with the release of their movie Artificial, which has just started filming.
