MEGA’s 10 Best Dressed at the Oscars

Fresh off the red carpet, we’re here to present to you the best dressed women of the night

The big guns of award shows in Hollywood have finally ended as the Academy Awards commenced their show just today. Alongside its fellow prestigious award shows like the Golden Globes and SAG Awards, they also give recognition to actors for their outstanding performance, as well as the teams behind the movies for their artistic and technical contributions.

Apart from celebrating this year’s winners, we also recognize the parade of celebrities in their designer gowns. There was a trend in the Oscars as actresses arrived in voluminous silhouettes to vintage-inspired looks, so we’re here to list down the women who definitely got the fashion memo.

Rihanna in Alaïa

The Oscar-nominated singer arrived looking extra sleek with her all black number. The nearing mom of two proudly showed off her baby bump with a sheer body-hugging top layered with a leather number that starts by her bust down to the mermaid tail.

Cate Blanchett in Louis Vuitton

Cate Blanchett made an appearance with her nomination under the category of Actress in a Leading Role for her involvement in Tár, and she made sure to keep her sustainable fashion alive with this classic look. Posted by her stylist, Elizabeth Stewart, the velvet blue top was reconstructed from an archival collection, while the skirt was made from sustainable silk.

Jessica Chastain in custom Gucci

Jessica Chastain went from winning an Oscar in 2022 to presenting on stage in her custom Gucci gown. It seems like we’re being taken back to the good days of Old Hollywood with the staple figure-hugging silhouette and plunging neckline decorated with silver sequins while the black was added for subtle edge.

It was her second time around at the Academy Awards, and Florence Pugh showed us her love for billowed out gowns. She gave us the ideal blend of camp and trendy with her taffeta dress that was folded and draped to accentuate her figure, while a black mini skirt peeped underneath the beige fabric.
