After almost two months of waiting in agony—yes, agony—Taylor Swift’s newest album called Midnights is finally out. Over the past couple of months, the Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter has provided us Swifties with a great load of content over social media, just teasing and preparing us for what’s about to come. And given that it’s already here, it’s time to drop everything now and listen.

It’s undeniable that Taylor’s songs are our go-to’s when it comes to creating playlists that basically describe what we’re currently experiencing. However, there are also times wherein we can’t quite figure out which song to play in certain situations.
Here’s a quick rundown of some songs from Midnights that you can definitely insert in your playlists that match your personality, experiences, or anything else that’s going on in your life.
If you’re floating on cloud nine
Right off the bat, listeners are given a perfect album opener with “Lavender Haze” as it gives off just the right amount of emotion depicting someone who’s simply in love. If you and your significant other are the type to be happy and content just spending alone-time with one another, not caring what naysayers keep blabbing about your relationship, then “Lavender Haze” is for you.

If you’re struggling to move on
Immediately following the love-struck personality of “Lavender Haze” is “Maroon,” which tells a love story that unfortunately went south. If you’re still struggling to move on from your past relationship with someone whom you thought could’ve been the one, “Maroon” may just explain what you’re experiencing.

If you’ve simply had enough
Being in a relationship should always be a give-and-take situation. But it’s not exactly surprising if we eventually realize that we’ve been doing most of the hand-holding, caring, and giving for years. If you think—or know—that you’ve had enough, and realize that it’s time for you to reclaim your shine, give “Bejeweled” from Midnights a shot.

Yes, you may not be plotting some sort of scheme on purpose, but if something bad happens to the one who has caused you pain, don’t deny that your day will get even just a tiny bit better. “Karma” is the song that perfectly encapsulates what it means to rise above a sticky situation you were in. And if you’re just enjoying what life has given you, add that to your playlist.

If you believe it was bound to happen
Midnights ends with “Mastermind,” a song that has laid down the blueprint of a relationship wherein both parties knew it was just going to happen—and they’re glad it did. If you’re currently in a relationship and knew right from the start that you were going to end up with your partner, then “Mastermind” is definitely the perfect way to cap off the album for you—the original version, at least. Don’t even get us started on Midnights (3am Edition).
